Developer Mihawk9_9 introduced the Mihawk OS project on October 11, designed to run Windows 11 on jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles. The project is currently in the development and demonstration phase.
Mihawk OS evolved from the previous homebrew program known as PS5 Proton. Its primary objective is to enable the native execution of 32-bit and 64-bit Windows games on the console hardware.
The system currently supports RetroArch, allowing users to load various emulator cores for retro gaming platforms. The developer has already demonstrated the game Hades running within this Windows environment on the PS5.
