Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 11 version 23H2 for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions will conclude on November 10, 2026. After this date, the company will cease issuing monthly security updates for these specific builds, leaving systems vulnerable to potential security threats.
The 23H2 version, identified by build number 22631, was originally released in October 2023. While consumer editions, including Home and Pro, reached their end of support on November 11, 2025, enterprise branches were granted an additional year of security patches. This final update cycle is now approaching its conclusion.
Although devices running these versions will remain functional after the deadline, they will no longer receive critical security patches. Microsoft warns that failing to upgrade poses significant compliance and operational risks, as known vulnerabilities will remain unpatched on outdated systems.
The company advises organizations to migrate their hardware to currently supported versions of Windows 11. While the 26H2 update is currently being rolled out in stages, Microsoft notes that businesses have the option to upgrade to the latest release to extend their support window, though they caution that new versions may present stability challenges.
