Microsoft Rus, the primary Russian subsidiary of Microsoft, has ignored a request from the Federal Tax Service (FNS) to provide operational documents. The company, which was declared bankrupt in April 2026, also failed to respond to a court summons.
Currently, the company has only one employee on its payroll: its president, who resides in the United States. Continued non-compliance with tax authority requirements may lead to additional fines and sanctions against the entity.
The company reported revenue of 43.3 ₽ million in 2025, representing a 73% decline compared to the previous year. In 2024, the subsidiary recorded a net profit of 174.1 ₽ million, up from 125.3 ₽ million in 2023.
Microsoft initiated the bankruptcy process for its Russian arm in mid-2025, despite stating in April 2024 that it had no such intentions. By May 2025, all staff had been dismissed, and the company had closed branches in 13 cities.
