Microsoft has officially acknowledged a critical issue in Word version 2608, specifically build 20326.x. The software may unexpectedly crash when users attempt to generate documents using third-party case or document management applications.
These specialized software tools are designed to automatically populate Word templates with data from business or legal systems. The current bug disrupts these automated workflows, potentially stalling batch document creation, approval processes, and archiving tasks.
At the time of reporting, Microsoft support teams are actively investigating the root cause of the instability. The company has not yet released a temporary fix or workaround for users affected by this version update.
