Microsoft has launched a trade-in promotion in the US and Canada for the Surface Laptop Ultra. Customers who purchase the new device and trade in an eligible old machine can receive its assessed value plus a cash rebate of up to $1000.
The process requires purchasing the laptop through the Microsoft online store first. Users must then submit a claim via the Teladvance portal with proof of purchase. After approval, the old device must be shipped within 15 days. Payments are issued via PayPal or bank transfer within 14 days of inspection.
The Surface Laptop Ultra starts at $2599.99. It features a 15-inch touchscreen, a 20-core Grace CPU, 128GB of unified memory, and the NVIDIA RTX Spark platform. The device weighs less than 4.5 pounds and is under 18mm thick. It includes USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, an SD card slot, and a headphone jack.
To qualify for the trade-in, the old device must be fully functional, including battery operation, and free of physical damage or locks. The promotion is limited to one per customer. Microsoft notes that trade-in transactions are final and cannot be reversed once completed.
Official Microsoft pages show conflicting end dates for the promotion, listing both October 26 and November 23, 2026. The company advises customers to rely on the specific terms displayed during the checkout or application process for their purchase.
