Microsoft has launched a new division within Xbox called XP, which focuses on expanding the brand beyond the gaming industry. The initiative aims to leverage existing capabilities across various teams to reach broader audiences through new markets, with a primary focus on film and television projects.
The XP division is structured into four core segments: Xbox Pictures for film production, Xbox Products for consumer merchandise, Xbox Places for live events, and Xbox Partnerships for collaborations with brands, content creators, and sponsors.
Kailin Walters has been appointed to lead the new division. Walters brings significant industry experience, having previously managed Mojang Studios and worked at Lucasfilm on the Star Wars franchise. The move follows the success of the Fallout series adaptation.
