Microsoft has officially suspended the planned changes to the contact card feature in the classic version of Outlook. The company previously announced in July that it intended to simplify these cards, making the detailed view an exclusive feature for the new Outlook application.
The initial goal of the update was to encourage users of Windows 10 and Windows 11 to transition to the newer version of the email client. According to the latest company announcement, identified as MC1269210, the plan to force this simplification has been shelved, though the company may revisit it in the future.
Despite this reversal, Microsoft continues its efforts to migrate users toward the new Outlook platform. The company has previously outlined 15 distinct reasons for users to switch, maintaining a clear strategy to phase out the classic interface while keeping the feature set consistent between the two versions for now.
