Microsoft is reportedly testing a redesigned mouse cursor for Windows 11, as observed in recent official promotional materials. The new design features softer, more rounded lines compared to the classic white arrow that has remained largely unchanged since the 1990s.

The updated cursor aligns with the modern visual language of Windows 11, characterized by rounded corners and refreshed icons. Analysts suggest the design shift aims to improve visibility and operational efficiency across high-resolution displays, ultra-wide monitors, and touch-enabled devices.

This potential update follows Microsoft's ongoing efforts to modernize core system components, including the File Explorer, Start menu, and system settings. The cursor is currently one of the few remaining legacy elements in the Windows interface.

Despite the appearance in promotional content, Microsoft has not officially announced the change or released the feature in current Windows 11 test builds. It remains unclear whether this design will be implemented or if it will remain a conceptual prototype.
