Microsoft has officially ended support for Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro editions. The company previously issued 90-day upgrade notifications to users of these versions. Following the termination of support, these editions will no longer receive regular updates or security patches.
The 24H2 Home and Pro versions, released in October 2024, operated on a 24-month support cycle. Microsoft confirmed that there is no Extended Security Update program for these specific editions. Users are advised to transition to Windows 11 25H2 or 26H2 to maintain system security.
In contrast, the Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11 24H2 remain supported for 36 months, with coverage extending until October 12, 2027. This aligns with the company's established lifecycle policies for business-oriented software deployments.
Additionally, Microsoft has discontinued support for Office LTSC 2021, Visio LTSC 2021, and Project LTSC 2021. The company recommends that users migrate to Microsoft 365 or Office 365 suites. These platforms provide continuous updates across desktop, mobile, and web environments.
