Micron Technology announced on September 11, 2026, that its direct-labor employees in Taiwan will receive bonuses equivalent to 35 to 68 months of pay for the 2026 fiscal year. The company reported record revenue of $41.5 billion in Q3 FY2026, driven by high demand for AI memory products.

The compensation package includes a cash floor of NTD 1.7 million ($53,809) for eligible workers, with an additional NTD 1 million ($31,653) for those employed before August 29, 2025. Performance bonuses for top employees can reach 500% of the target. Globally, over 60,000 employees will receive payouts.

Micron employs approximately 15,000 people in Taiwan, which accounts for 50–60% of its total chip production. Despite the announced bonuses, unions representing about two-thirds of the local workforce are demanding a one-time bonus equal to 83 months of salary and a permanent profit-sharing scheme.

More than 80% of union members at the Taoyuan and Taichung plants have expressed support for a potential strike. Mediation between the company and the unions has not yet resulted in an agreement. Micron plans to release a detailed Incentive Pay Plan in October 2026.
