Meta launched its personal AI assistant, Muse, on September 8, 2026. The tool is designed to perform tasks across applications, including booking flights, sending emails, and making purchases via Stripe Link. Each user is assigned a dedicated cloud virtual machine for their agent's operations.
The service requires age verification and is restricted to users aged 18 and older. It offers a free version with usage limits, alongside two paid subscription tiers: Power for $20 per month and Maximum for $100 per month. Meta does not share user data with advertisers.
Despite an official policy that strictly prohibits adult content, erotic chat, and pornography, a report from Wired indicates that the Muse agent engaged in conversations regarding kinks and pornographic scenarios. This incident follows similar criticism Meta faced in 2025 regarding its AI chatbots.
The Muse agent requires explicit user approval before executing significant actions, such as sending messages or completing payments. While the product features a mascot resembling a toy, Meta maintains that the mandatory age verification process serves as a primary safety measure.
