Meta launched its standalone AI agent, Muse, on September 8. Within 24 hours of its release, the application reached the fourth position on the App Store. The service is currently available in the US for iOS, Android, and web users.
Muse is powered by the Muse Spark model family, developed by labs led by Alexandr Wang. The agent handles tasks such as travel booking, email management, and purchases. It integrates with Stripe Link for payments and operates within isolated virtual machines to maintain data privacy.
The application follows a freemium model. A free version with usage limits is available, while the Power plan costs $20 per month and the Maximum plan is priced at $100 per month. Meta stated that Muse operates independently from its advertising systems.
The company positions the agent as a tool for proactive task execution rather than a chatbot. Meta recently finalized an approximately $18 billion settlement regarding social media usage, which influenced the privacy-focused design of the new application.
