Meta has launched Muse, a personal AI agent designed to handle daily tasks such as online shopping, scheduling, and email processing. The tool operates on the Muse Spark model and focuses on autonomous actions, including filling out web forms and managing calendars. For secure payments, the system integrates Stripe's Link service, with Shop Pay and 1Password support coming later.

The agent runs in an isolated virtual machine called Muse Secure VM, which includes a built-in browser and terminal. It can write code and create custom utilities for specific tasks. Muse can operate in the background with the app closed, sending notifications only when necessary. However, all irreversible actions, such as sending emails or paying bills, require user confirmation.

Instead of long text messages, the assistant creates interactive documents, expense trackers, and summary tables. Users can customize the agent's name, appearance, and communication style, and they can review the action log and edit data in the memory block. The service is currently available to users in the USA via the muse.ai website, iOS and Android apps, and WhatsApp.

The basic plan is free but requires a linked bank card. Paid subscriptions include the Power plan at $20 per month and the Maximum plan at $100 per month. Meta also plans to integrate the agent into its smart glasses. This launch follows Mark Zuckerberg's January announcement regarding the Meta Compute initiative to strengthen the AI infrastructure.
