The Smart #2 is a two-door, two-seater electric sedan based on the brand's ECA pure electric architecture. This platform is specifically designed for small-format EVs, allowing for a turning circle of 6.95 meters. The vehicle's design was handled by the Mercedes-Benz design team.
The model will be available in two body lengths: 2,751 mm and 2,764 mm. Both versions share a width of 1,669 mm and a height of 1,555 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,875 mm. The curb weight is 1,130 kg, and the top speed is 140 km/h.
The car is powered by a 60 kW (80 hp) electric motor and uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells from CATL. It features a 35.7 kWh battery pack, providing a range of approximately 300 km under the WLTP cycle.
The vehicle supports DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes. Standard equipment includes an Event Data Recorder (EDR) system, while an Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) device is optional.
The Smart #2 will make its official debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. Camouflaged prototypes have already been spotted in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
