Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the AMG CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung, the second model released under its ultra-luxury Mythos sub-brand. The vehicle is based on the AMG CLE 53 platform but features significant modifications, including a wider track and extensive use of carbon fiber to reduce weight by 375 pounds.
The coupe is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 637 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a nine-speed AMG Speedshift transmission. The car achieves a top speed of 193 mph and accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds.
The vehicle features a specialized aerodynamics package generating over 550 pounds of downforce at top speed, including an adjustable rear wing and front diffuser. The suspension system utilizes steel-sprung coilovers with four-way adjustable dampers, while braking is handled by ceramic discs.
To minimize weight, the manufacturer removed rear seats, acoustic insulation, and several driver-assistance systems. The interior includes carbon-fiber door panels, bucket seats, and a roll bar. An optional Performance Package offers six-point harnesses for track use.
Production of the CLE 646 is limited to 30 units, all of which have already been sold. The Mythos sub-brand was originally launched by Mercedes-Benz in 2022 to focus on low-volume, exclusive vehicle production.
