Mercedes-AMG is reportedly preparing to unveil its first independently developed electric GT SUV on October 17, 2026. The premiere is expected to take place at The 140 Festival, hosted by the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. This vehicle represents a clean-sheet project for the brand, designed entirely in-house rather than being based on an existing model.

The SUV will be the second vehicle built on the dedicated AMG.EA electric performance platform, following the GT 4-Door Coupe. Production is slated for the Sindelfingen plant, which has been converted for electric vehicle assembly. This marks a departure from the traditional production location in Affalterbach.

While official specifications are pending, the SUV is expected to utilize the 800-volt electrical architecture and axial-flux YASA motor technology featured in the GT 4-Door. The model is positioned as a full-size super-SUV, sitting above the current EQE and EQS SUV lineups. Market launch and initial customer deliveries are anticipated for early 2027.
