China Unicom and Meizu have unveiled the 'Little Cube' AI terminal, a device featuring a 4-inch square display and weighing 99 grams. The hardware runs on the cloud-integrated Yunzhi OS, designed to handle tasks such as smart home control and ordering coffee.
The device utilizes an onboard camera and large language models to identify real-world objects. It integrates with China Unicom's smart calling services, offering features like real-time Chinese-English translation, AI transcription, call summarization, and emotion recognition.
Users can switch between local and cloud-based identities, leveraging 2TB of cloud storage for applications and data. This setup allows for the offloading of heavy applications and large files to the cloud, utilizing remote computing power.
Meizu previously showcased its 'AI Little Cube' concept, featuring the Unisoc T8200 processor and Flyme AIOS, at the Tencent WorkBuddy ecosystem event. Reports indicate that the device is scheduled for mass production and commercial release.
