MegaFon has installed additional telecommunications equipment in the village of Ugra, Smolensk region. The infrastructure upgrade provides 4G internet speeds of up to 50 Mbps for more than 3,000 residents and visitors.
The new network capacity supports VoLTE technology, which improves voice call stability and allows users to browse the internet while on a call. The coverage area includes the local railway route and popular tourist spots for kayaking.
During the first weeks of operation, users in the area generated over 400 hours of voice calls and consumed 2 TB of data. The region is a key administrative center with local industrial facilities, including a wood processing plant opened in 2019.
