MegaFon has upgraded its telecommunications infrastructure in the village of Uvat, located in the Tyumen region. The project involved activating a low-frequency band to improve signal coverage and network stability for both local residents and the thousands of tourists visiting the area annually.

According to Evgeny Pflaumer, director of MegaFon in the Tyumen region, the modernization efforts have expanded the network coverage area by an average of 20%. This improvement ensures reliable mobile internet and voice services beyond the village center, supporting independent travelers and visitors to local landmarks.

The initiative is part of a broader regional development program. Since the beginning of 2026, the operator has built or upgraded over 80 telecommunications facilities across the Tyumen region, including sites in Tyumen, Tobolsk, and the Roshchino airport terminal. Currently, MegaFon covers more than 90% of the region's territory.
