MegaFon has upgraded its network infrastructure in central Novosibirsk by modernizing over 20 base stations. The improvements focus on high-traffic areas, including major thoroughfares, the business district, and the access points of the Central Bridge.
Technical teams installed additional equipment operating in mid-frequency bands on existing stations. This upgrade aims to increase network capacity, enhance 4G coverage, and boost mobile internet speeds for a larger number of simultaneous users.
According to company data, mobile traffic in Novosibirsk increased by 8% in August 2026 compared to the beginning of the year. The city serves a population of over 1.6 million residents and attracts approximately 3 million visitors annually for business and tourism.
The network enhancement covers key locations such as Krasny Prospekt, Ippodromskaya Magistral, and several major streets including Bolshevistskaya and Frunze. The operator continues to expand capacity to support high-density areas like newly opened parks.
