MegaFon has upgraded its telecommunications infrastructure in Grozny, increasing mobile internet speeds for over 400,000 residents. The technical improvements involved updating equipment across the 2100 MHz frequency bands, which expanded network capacity and improved traffic distribution.

The network enhancement resulted in a 10% increase in mobile data speeds across the city, including residential areas, commercial districts, and historical sites. These upgrades were driven by rising demand from both the local population and tourists, as well as a twofold increase in traffic to social media and streaming platforms compared to 2025.

According to Murad Evloev, director of MegaFon in the Chechen Republic, the expanded infrastructure supports online education, remote work, and access to government services. The initiative addresses the growing digital needs of Grozny as a key administrative and industrial center in the North Caucasus.
