MegaFon has completed a network upgrade in the port cities of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur and Sovetskaya Gavan in the Khabarovsk Territory. The operator installed additional base stations to expand 4G capacity and improve signal stability across urban outskirts and residential areas.
The modernization project aims to support the growing data consumption of local residents. According to MegaFon, per-user traffic increased by 17% in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur and 10% in Sovetskaya Gavan over the past year. The network improvements now allow for average internet speeds of up to 60 Mbps.
These cities serve as critical logistics hubs for the region, providing access to the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk. The combined population of the two locations is approximately 50,000 people. Ilya Chelyshev, director of MegaFon in the Khabarovsk Territory, stated that the infrastructure expansion aligns with rising demand.
