MegaFon has upgraded its network infrastructure in the Vologda region, specifically targeting rural areas in the Sheksninsky district. The operator installed new base stations and modernized existing ones in the villages of Bolshoe Ivanovskoe, Shelomovo, and the village of Charomskoe.
These technical improvements now provide over 1,000 residents with mobile connectivity and internet speeds reaching up to 40 Mbps. The upgrade involved deploying additional mid- and high-frequency LTE bands, which expanded 4G coverage and enhanced voice call quality across both residential and social facilities.
According to the operator, data consumption in the region grows by 10–15% annually. Residents in the Sheksninsky district currently consume an average of over 100 GB of mobile data per month, primarily utilizing social media, music, and video streaming platforms.
