MegaFon has completed a network infrastructure upgrade in Kuvshinovo, Tver Region. The project resulted in a 20% increase in mobile internet coverage area. Engineers utilized low-frequency LTE bands to improve signal penetration within buildings and expand the reach of base stations across residential neighborhoods, including Oktiabrskaya, Mayakovsky, and Lomonosov streets.
The modernization also enhanced VoLTE capabilities for the city. According to the operator, over 70% of voice calls in Kuvshinovo are now conducted over 4G networks, with the volume of digital calls increasing by 1.6 times since the beginning of the year. The technology allows users to browse the internet simultaneously while on a call without compromising signal quality.
In addition to urban improvements, MegaFon installed new telecommunications infrastructure near the village of Mogilevka. This site is located on the Torzhok–Ostashkov highway, a major logistics and tourist route connecting the central part of the Tver region to Lake Seliger.
