MegaFon has completed a network upgrade in the Cheremkhovsky district of the Irkutsk region. The project focused on improving 4G connectivity in the city of Cheremkhovo, as well as the settlements of Mikhaylovka, Alekhino, Nizhnyaya Iret, Onot, and Parfenovo.
Technical teams reconfigured existing base stations by migrating legacy frequencies to the LTE standard. Additionally, the operator activated supplementary low- and mid-frequency LTE bands to increase data transmission speeds and expand network coverage.
Dmitry Bobkov, director of MegaFon in the Irkutsk region, stated that the company monitors network load to adjust capacity. Since the beginning of 2026, the operator has constructed or upgraded approximately 350 base stations across the region.
