MegaFon has deployed new telecommunications infrastructure along the M9 Baltiya highway in the Pskov region. The upgrades cover the area between Greblo and Churilovo, including the villages of Greblo, Lokachino, and Churilovo.

The new equipment operates in the low-frequency LTE range, which allows for broader signal coverage across rural areas. Users on this highway segment can now access mobile internet speeds of up to 40 Mbps.

Data traffic on this section of the M9 highway grew by 18% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The primary users of the network are drivers from Moscow, Tver, and Smolensk, who account for over 52% of the total traffic.

According to Alexander Dolgikh, director of MegaFon in the Pskov region, the network expansion aims to provide reliable connectivity for navigation and emergency access. Drivers from Saint Petersburg and Novgorod are also among the top users of the service.
