MediaTek has introduced the Helio G99+, an updated 4G processor based on the Helio G99 platform. The chip is manufactured using TSMC's 6nm process, maintaining the same architecture as the original 2022 version.

The primary upgrade is the addition of support for LPDDR5X memory with speeds up to 5500 Mbps, complementing existing LPDDR4X support (up to 4266 Mbps). This change addresses current DRAM supplier shifts toward HBM and DDR5/LPDDR5X, reducing the availability of LPDDR4X.

The processor's core configuration remains unchanged: two Arm Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2 GHz and six Arm Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. It features a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, UFS 2.2 storage support, and compatibility with cameras up to 108 megapixels.

The chip includes an integrated Cat-13 4G modem with VoLTE support for dual SIM cards. MediaTek is targeting markets where low cost is prioritized over peak performance and high-end functionality. This follows previous announcements of the Helio G100 and G200 processors, which also featured minor changes to the базовый G99.
