MediaTek officially unveiled its new Dimensity 9600 Pro flagship 5G AI-enabled processor during a dedicated event held on September 15, 2026. The chip is built using a 2nm manufacturing process and features a new Pro architecture.
The technical design of the Dimensity 9600 Pro includes a specialized CPU architecture for intelligent computing, a GPU neural rendering framework, and a dual NPU system focused on performance and energy efficiency. It also incorporates an ISP for intelligent imaging.
Executives from major smartphone manufacturers, including Lu Weibing from Xiaomi, Fang Fei from Honor, and Wang Haibin from Transsion Holdings, appeared via video to congratulate MediaTek on the launch. However, no specific device partnerships were confirmed by these brands.
Vivo has officially announced that its X500 Pro series will be the first in the world to feature the new Dimensity 9600 Pro chip. Additionally, Oppo confirmed that the upcoming Find X10 Pro Max model will be among the first devices to utilize the processor.
