MediaTek will unveil its first flagship chip with a Pro suffix in the Dimensity line on September 15 at 14:30 local time. The company promises improvements in both hardware and software technologies to boost performance and energy efficiency.
The processor is expected to be named Dimensity 9600 Pro. It may feature a transition to a 2nm process, specifically the second generation of TSMC N2P technology, while the standard Dimensity 9600 is expected to remain on a 3nm process.
The chip is designed for gaming and content creation. It will include AI graphics rendering, an updated StarSpeed Engine, and hardware ray tracing. For video, it supports 4K slow-motion recording at 240 fps and additional mobile filming tools.
Preliminary data suggests that the Vivo X500 Pro Max may be the first smartphone to feature the Dimensity 9600 Pro processor.
