Mecka AI, a startup specializing in collecting and analyzing human motion data for training humanoid robots, is reportedly nearing a new funding round. The deal is led by Sequoia Capital and values the company at approximately $500 million.
This development follows a $60 million round announced just three months ago, which was led by Framework Ventures with participation from Menlo Ventures, SV Angel, and Kindred Ventures. The exact size of the current round remains undisclosed, and terms are subject to change.
Founded in 2024 by Josh Gao, Mogen Cheng, Jason Chong, and Duy Nguyen, the company focuses on capturing real-world interactions to address data shortages in robotics. Mecka AI pays individuals to record themselves performing daily tasks using smartphones and body sensors.
As of June 2026, the company projected an annual run rate of $100 million. Mecka AI operates in a competitive landscape alongside other data providers like XDOF, Scale AI, and Micro1, which are also scaling their efforts to support AI and robotics development.
