Maxus, a brand under SAIC, is expanding its European lineup beyond vans and pick-ups. At the IAA Transportation in Hanover, the company unveiled its first 42-tonne electric truck, the eDeliver 420L, built on the modular AILink architecture.
The heavy-duty truck features a 615-kWh battery from CATL, rated for a service life of 1.5 million kilometres. It supports fast charging from 20 to 80 per cent in 25 minutes. The cab design meets ECE R29 V3.0 safety standards and includes a 500-millimetre rearward shift mechanism for collision protection.
The brand also introduced the eDeliver 75, a 7.5-tonne electric truck for urban use. It is equipped with a 120-kWh battery providing a WLTP range of up to 250 kilometres, with fast charging from 20 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes. The vehicle offers a payload capacity of 4,590 kilograms.
Maxus showcased the Level 4 autonomous RoboVan, which has completed over 10 million kilometres in trials. The vehicle uses three LiDAR sensors and eleven cameras to manage a 1,500-kilogram payload. Additionally, the company is demonstrating bidirectional V2X charging solutions for grid stabilization.
To support its growing commercial vehicle range, Maxus plans to expand its German service network to 170 locations by the end of 2026. This initiative aims to improve spare parts supply and support for fleet partners in the region.
