Maserati has finalized a partnership with Huawei and JAC to develop two new electric vehicles. The collaboration will result in an electric SUV and an electric GT model. In China, these vehicles will be marketed under the Maextro brand, while international markets will receive them badged as Maseratis.

JAC Motors will handle the engineering and manufacturing of the vehicle bodies at its production site. Huawei will supply its Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance platform, which includes the Qiankun autonomous driving system, electric powertrain technology, and intelligent cockpit components.

Despite production taking place in China, Maserati will oversee the design and final assembly. The vehicle bodies will be exported to Italy for the final assembly process. The company plans to sell these new models in the Middle East, Italy, France, and Germany.

The partnership aims to address the brand's recent sales decline. In the 2025 fiscal year, Maserati sold 7,900 vehicles, compared to 11,300 units in the previous fiscal year. This figure represents the lowest sales volume for the brand since the early 2010s.
