Singapore-based Butterfly Effect Pte. Ltd. launched Manus 2.0 on September 28, 2026. The update introduces the Cascade architecture, which dynamically manages resource allocation for AI agents. Internal tests show the new system consumes 23.2% fewer tokens and completes tasks 28.2% faster than its predecessor.

The implementation of Cascade reduces operational costs by 32%. This efficiency gain is significant for the company, which reported revenue of approximately $125 million by December 2025. The architecture functions by initiating projects with minimal overhead and adding specialized tools only when required by the task context.

Manus 2.0 includes two primary product updates. Manus Studio is an upgraded professional desktop application for building and deploying agents at scale. Additionally, the company released Cue, a standalone personal agent application currently available through an invite-only early access program.

The company remains independent following a stalled acquisition attempt by Meta in December 2025. Reports indicated the potential deal was valued between $2 billion and $3 billion, but the transaction faced regulatory challenges that prevented its completion.
