Magnit and ITMO University have launched a partnership to train IT specialists for the retailer's technology division, Magnit Tech. ITMO is the first university in Russia's North-West region to provide targeted training for the company's tech unit.
The collaboration includes a DevOps course for senior students, co-developed by the university and the company. Magnit Tech has also become an industrial partner for the Top Data Science program, committing to annual financial support for the initiative until 2030.
The partnership involves joint projects, hackathons, and bootcamps throughout the academic year. Students will have access to Magnit's internship programs, Start and Pro, designed to accelerate professional adaptation and productivity for entry-level developers.
The collaboration aims to integrate Magnit's engineers into the educational process, allowing the company to test ideas on real data. Future plans include utilizing ITMO's R&D platform for experiments and involving company experts in reviewing final qualification theses.
