Maextro, a luxury brand created by Huawei and JAC, announced a design update for the brake pedal bracket base of its V800 MPV. The company will provide a free upgrade to existing owners following reports of component fractures during emergency braking tests.
The decision follows a video report from the platform Dongchedi, which tested three V800 vehicles. According to the report, the brake pedal brackets failed during emergency stops from 100 km/h. The failures occurred between the second and fourth braking attempts in the tested units.
Maextro stated that no such fractures have been reported by customers since deliveries began. The company noted that its braking system was validated against standards exceeding national requirements, describing the test conditions as extreme and non-standard.
The brand committed to strengthening its design validation, testing parameters, and production quality management. The V800, launched on August 5, is positioned as a flagship MPV with prices ranging from ¥766 000 to ¥1 016 000.
