Following reports of brake pedal bracket failures during emergency braking tests at 100 km/h, Maextro has announced a design optimization for the V800 model. The company stated that its braking system underwent standard development and validation processes, yet it will now offer a free upgrade for the component.
The upgrade process is scheduled to begin in November, with the final plan expected to be confirmed by the end of October. Vehicles that have not yet been shipped will be manufactured with the updated brake pedal assembly, ensuring that new customers receive the optimized version upon delivery.
For existing owners, the company will coordinate upgrades through local service centers upon request. Maextro emphasized that this initiative is not a formal recall. Owners are not required to upgrade their vehicles; those who do not proactively request the service will continue to use the original pedal design.
The issue gained attention after a test conducted by Dongchedi, where the brake pedal bracket of the Maextro V800 fractured three times during repeated 100 km/h to 0 braking tests. While some suggested the force applied was excessive, testers maintained that the procedure represents a standard safety evaluation for vehicles.
