Maextro has announced a free brake pedal upgrade program for its vehicle owners. Following initial reports regarding the Maextro V800, the company confirmed that its braking systems meet or exceed national and industry standards. Despite this, the manufacturer decided to optimize the component design and offer free replacements to existing customers.
The upgrade program now extends beyond the V800 model. According to reports, owners of the Maextro S800 Collection Edition are also eligible for the free brake pedal replacement. The process for these vehicles is expected to be completed around November.
Official documentation regarding the Maextro V800 braking system was released on October 11, 2026. Testing conducted by the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute confirmed that the pedal meets the QC/T 788-2018 industry standard. Under rigorous testing conditions, including a longitudinal force of 3000N, the component showed no signs of damage or cracking.
Representatives from Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance confirmed that the testing was performed by a certified third-party institution. Meanwhile, the company continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the viral video that originally prompted the public discussion about the brake pedal performance.
