Lucid Motors reported a production volume of 2,954 electric vehicles for the third quarter of 2026, marking a 54% year-over-year decline. This figure represents the lowest quarterly output since the first quarter of 2025. The company stated that it is intentionally limiting production to align with current market demand.
Deliveries for the third quarter reached 3,806 vehicles, a slight decrease from the 4,006 units delivered in the same period last year. Over the past six quarters, Lucid has consistently produced more vehicles than it has delivered, highlighting ongoing challenges in securing a broader customer base.
CEO Silvio Napoli is currently overseeing a restructuring plan aimed at achieving $1,4 billion in cost savings. Measures include the layoff of approximately 1,500 employees, leadership consolidation, and the elimination of a second shift at the Arizona manufacturing facility.
The company has postponed the launch of its third model, the Cosmos, which was intended to be a more accessible vehicle with a starting price under $50,000. Management emphasized that they will not release the product until it is fully ready to avoid repeating previous operational mistakes.
