The LiveWire S4 Honcho electric motorcycle has been approved by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for use in rider training programs. This certification allows students to complete their training and obtain a motorcycle endorsement without needing to master a clutch or manual gearbox.
The S4 Honcho is designed as an approachable, urban-focused model with a weight of 121 kg and a seat height under 30 inches. It features a top speed of 95 km/h, with software-limited training modes that restrict the bike to 29 km/h or 45 km/h to simulate traditional gear-based training environments.
The motorcycle offers a range of 85 km under the WMTC standard, or up to 117 km at a constant speed of 32 km/h. It utilizes a swappable battery system, allowing training schools to maintain continuous operation throughout the day without waiting for recharge cycles.
The model will be integrated into the MSF RiderCoach Tour demo fleet to allow instructors to evaluate its performance in training exercises. LiveWire offers the standard S4 Honcho for $4,999, while the street version is priced at $5,499.
