Lineage Bank has rebranded as Harpeth Bank & Trust, signaling a strategic shift toward community banking. This transition follows a consent order issued by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on July 31, which the bank entered without admitting or denying allegations of unsafe practices.
The regulatory agreement mandates that the bank implement a three-year business plan, improve earnings through a profit and budget strategy, and develop a plan to reduce problem credits. Additionally, the bank must maintain a capital plan and manage its brokered deposits under the oversight of the regional director.
The institution previously served as one of four partner banks for Synapse, which managed accounts for 100 fintech platforms. In March, the investor group Recap Financial Ventures finalized its acquisition of a majority stake in the bank’s holding company, Lineage Financial Network.
Under the new identity, Harpeth Bank & Trust plans to expand its service capabilities and technology in Middle Tennessee. The bank has also appointed a new executive leadership team composed of experienced local bankers, as confirmed by CEO David McDaniel.
