Lido has announced the development of Lido Lend, a new decentralized lending protocol scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. The project is being built as a modified fork of Morpho Blue, a lending framework that originally debuted in 2024.
The protocol focuses on three primary design features: isolated market structures to prevent risk contagion, deposit screening to filter out compromised funds or poor collateral, and a mechanism to ensure reliable exits for lenders during periods of full utilization.
Lido plans to limit the platform to a selection of blue-chip asset pairs characterized by lower volatility, citing stETH and ETH pairings as a primary example. This approach is intended to provide passive investors with a safer yield environment.
The governance structure of Lido Lend is currently subject to a future vote by the Lido DAO. Until the DAO members finalize the decision, the specific oversight and control mechanisms for the protocol remain undecided.
