Leapmotor has established a new subsidiary, Leapmotor (Thailand) Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of THB 100 million. This move marks a shift to direct control of local operations, replacing the previous model where Phra Nakorn Automobile Co., Ltd. acted as the importer and distributor. PNA will continue to operate as a dealer with two showrooms in Bangkok.
The company is currently evaluating options for local CKD assembly, including contract manufacturing, joint ventures, plant acquisition, or building a new facility. A team from China is scheduled to visit Thailand in November to assess these plans. Leapmotor targets an initial annual production capacity of 60,000 to 80,000 vehicles.
Since entering the market, the company has sold approximately 450 units of the C10 and B10 models. It anticipates sales of 3,000 to 5,000 vehicles by December, driven by the upcoming B03X launch on October 31. Leapmotor plans to introduce at least two more models in 2027 and reach a sales volume of 10,000 cars that year.
Leapmotor intends to scale its retail and service network significantly. From the current 12 locations, the company plans to expand to 30 showrooms by the end of 2026, 65 in 2027, and 100 by 2028. The board of directors has expressed strong support for these long-term expansion plans in the Thai market.
