Leapmotor's legal department announced on September 23 that it has successfully concluded a lawsuit against a social media user identified as Wang. The individual had been spreading false information about the company while posing as a Leapmotor owner and engineer.

According to the company, Wang used his fabricated persona to gain the trust of other car owners since 2025. Beyond spreading misinformation, he utilized online platforms to sell counterfeit automotive accessories that featured the Leapmotor registered trademark.

Following the legal action, Wang admitted to the infringement, issued a formal apology, and agreed to remove all unauthorized content and products. The court mediated the settlement, which required the defendant to pay a symbolic compensation of ¥1.

Leapmotor stated that the nominal claim of ¥1 serves to demonstrate the company's zero-tolerance policy toward false information. The firm emphasized its commitment to protecting its brand reputation and maintaining fair market order through legal channels.
