Chinese manufacturers BOE, TCL CSOT, and HKC have announced price increases for LCD panels. Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Sony have already received notifications regarding the updated pricing structures.

BOE intends to implement new price lists in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, TCL CSOT and HKC began raising costs for specific panels in September, coinciding with the peak procurement season for year-end holiday sales.

Industry data from Omdia indicates that these three Chinese firms control between 70% and 85% of the global market for large LCD panels, specifically those measuring 65, 75, and 85 inches. Their market share in the ultra-large screen segment is even higher.

Despite reports that some Chinese factories are operating at approximately 70% capacity, manufacturers are intentionally limiting output to prevent oversupply and maintain elevated market prices. This strategy is supported by the reduced number of alternative suppliers following the exit of Samsung Display and LG Display from the LCD market.
