New Zealand-based startup LawVu Ltd. has introduced Lens, an artificial intelligence tool designed for contract analysis. The product is integrated directly into the company's existing LegalOS platform, which serves as an operating system for in-house legal departments.
Lens identifies risks and obligations within legal documentation, such as unfavorable contract renewals, missed service levels, or requirements for consent. It also helps teams assess potential damages from non-compliance or changes in law by analyzing structured data already stored within the user's LegalOS environment.
The tool builds upon previous platform updates from June that introduced AI-powered drafting and legal work automation. LawVu emphasizes that Lens does not require customers to create separate repositories for document reviews, as it functions within their existing workflows.
By extracting provisions from large volumes of documents into structured tables, the system aims to reduce costs associated with outside counsel. LawVu maintains that customer data is not used to train its internal models, ensuring compliance with security and privacy standards.
