Larry Ellison, executive chair and CTO of Oracle, has canceled a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan that would have allowed the sale of 50 million shares. The decision was made only one day after the plan became public knowledge.

At recent market prices of approximately $150 per share, the 50 million shares were valued at roughly $7.5 billion. The plan was initially established on June 22, 2026, and was set to expire on October 24, 2026.

The 50 million shares account for about 1.65% of Oracle's total outstanding shares. Ellison, who holds approximately 40% of the company's stock, has historically limited individual sales to no more than 25,000 shares.

Oracle currently aims to raise $40 billion in the current fiscal year for growth initiatives, with an additional $45 to $50 billion expected in 2026. The company is also managing restructuring costs of $2.8 billion.
