Lu Fang, Chairman of Lantu Automobile Technology, addressed the current state of the automotive industry in a recent statement. He emphasized that the global automotive sector has faced significant quality challenges throughout its century-long history, and individual incidents should not be used to judge the entire Chinese automotive industry.
The executive highlighted the progress made by Chinese manufacturers in new energy technologies, intelligent features, and overall vehicle quality. Lu Fang noted that the industry is increasingly recognized for producing high-quality vehicles and urged domestic automakers to focus on consistent product improvement to maintain consumer trust.
Safety remains a primary focus for Lantu. Since October 2023, the company has implemented a strict internal policy where safety is treated as a mandatory requirement across all stages of product definition, development, and manufacturing. Any project failing to meet these safety standards is immediately rejected.
Lu Fang reiterated that the core of vehicle production lies in the underlying safety philosophy and the establishment of a robust, scientific development and quality management system. He stressed that companies must prioritize these principles to ensure long-term reliability and industry growth.
