The Lada Azimut crossover is scheduled to arrive at Russian dealerships this month, with customer deliveries beginning in November. According to Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of the Pragmatika dealer network, the model is expected to capture at least 10% of the brand's total sales volume.

Production of the new vehicle commenced in Tolyatti on September 25. The initial lineup features two naturally aspirated engines: a 1.6-liter unit producing 120 hp and a 1.8-liter engine delivering 132 hp. These powerplants are paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a Chinese-made CVT.

The manufacturer plans to expand the powertrain options in 2027 by introducing a 150-hp turbocharged engine coupled with a traditional automatic transmission. Additionally, a hybrid version of the flagship crossover is currently in development, which will be equipped with a battery produced domestically in Russia.

Market analysts identify the Haval Jolion, Tenet T4L, and Belgee X50 as the primary competitors for the new Lada model. The vehicle is marketed with specific features tailored for the Russian climate, including heated front side windows, alongside promises of accessible spare parts and lower maintenance costs.
