The development of PlayStation 5 emulators is accelerating, with recent progress enabling the rendering of Silent Hill 2 Remake on integrated graphics. This milestone was achieved using an experimental version of the KyTyPS5 emulator.
Specifically, the KyTyPlus variant of the emulator successfully rendered the game using an AMD Radeon 840 integrated GPU. While the current frame rate is approximately 4 FPS, developers note that performance for other PS5 titles has historically seen significant improvements in short timeframes.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is built on Unreal Engine 5, which typically demands high hardware performance. This makes the successful rendering on integrated graphics a notable development compared to previous simulation efforts for titles like Demon’s Souls Remake and Astro Bot.
While the emulator is not yet at a fully playable stage, recent advancements in simulating games like Astro Bot suggest that running PS5 titles on PC may become viable in the future. Further performance updates are expected in the coming weeks and months.
