Kwork, one of the largest Russian-language freelance marketplaces, has announced that it will stop working with freelancers who are not registered as individual entrepreneurs or self-employed.
The platform justifies this decision by citing Federal Law No. 289-FZ on the platform economy, which is set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
The law aims to regulate relationships between marketplaces, sellers, and partners, including requirements for KYC verification of sellers and mandatory notification periods for changes in legal documents.
